An oxbow of the Bodrog near Streda nad Bodrogom, protected since 1966 as a refuge of the European pond turtle.
Tajba covers about 27 ha around an isolated oxbow lake of the Bodrog and was declared a reserve on 25 May 1966 to protect the European pond turtle (Emys orbicularis). It also shelters rare marsh vegetation, water birds and the giant peacock moth, and it is part of the Latorica Protected Landscape Area. There are no visitor facilities, so treat it as a quiet stop and follow the reserve rules.
